Asi Ultra Marathon is a unique arctic stage race, where you will run across frozen lakes, tundra, and sea ice in Greenland. 150 km in 3 days.
"Asi" is the Greenlandic word for wilderness and reflects the wild nature you will traverse. The route follows the traditional sled path from the abandoned military base in Kangerlussuaq, across frozen tundra, lakes, and sea ice to Sisimiut. Each winter, the trail is shaped by the paws of sled dogs and the tracks of hunters' snowmobiles, in an Arctic hunting ground that Inuit have used for over 4,000 years.
The race takes place in March, where temperatures normally range from -5 to -20 degrees. The landscape, lakes, and sea are frozen solid, but the sun has begun to emerge after the long dark season, and at night, the Northern Lights dance in the sky above the campsites.
Experience unparalleled silence and total isolation, found only in the Greenlandic wilderness.
The first edition of this new running adventure is limited to 20 runners.
