Your time in the Greenlandic wilderness doesn't have to end yet.
Meet the Greenlandic sled dogs, animals perfectly adapted to this environment and still essential to life in the Arctic. Together with a local, experienced musher, you will set out from Sisimiut and move into the surrounding backcountry, now experiencing the landscape from a new perspective, one of calm movement rather than endurance on foot.
The route leads towards Niujarfik, a naturally sheltered area beneath the mountains northeast of Sisimiut. Here, there is time to pause, warm up with hot drinks and snacks, and reflect on the journey recently completed in the Arctic wilderness.
This is an accessible and grounding experience, offering a deeper connection to Greenland’s cultural heritage after days of physical challenge in the landscape itself.
Depending on weather and snow conditions, alternative routes may be chosen.
